Yana Kashcheva graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Music, majoring in piano, accompaniment, chamber music and piano pedagogy. In 2008-2011 she worked as a choir and vocal accompanist in University of Culture and Arts in Minsk. At the same time, she worked as a catholic church cantor and piano teacher in Minsk.
From 2011-2015 she worked as a piano teacher and accompanist at Guangdong University in China, where she was actively involved in teaching and performing.
Since 2017, Yana Kashcheva has been working in Freiburg and Loerrach as an organist, pianist, accompanist, singer and choir director of the church choirs Maria-Magdalena (Rieselfeld-Freiburg) and St. Stephan (Freiburg-Munzingen).
She has been studying organ, choir conducting and church music at the Freiburg University of Music since 2020. She is currently employed as a church musician at the Vinzentinerinnenkirche and parish of Freiburg-Tuniberg and works as an honorary cantor at Freiburg Minster. She regularly works as a répétiteur and organist with various choirs and ensembles in Freiburg.
Yana Kashcheva devotes herself entirely to church music, enjoys working in the field of classical, contemporary and Gregorian music and pursues her concert activities both as a concert organist and as a conductor and singer of the Gregorian women’s schola “Uncinus”.
