Inga Behrendt did her doctorate (Dr. phil.) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz on the Liber ordinarius A-Gu 756 from Seckau from 1345. She is Professor of Gregorian Chant and German hymnology at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik der Diözese Rottenburg-Stuttgart, where she also teaches music history (C-level training) and ecclesiastical Latin. She also holds a lectureship in Gregorian chant and liturgical singing at the University of Music in Freiburg. Her research focuses on Gregorian chant, the liturgical context of music, music notation in general and the computer technology of optical recognition as well as music historiography from the end of the 19th century to the 1950s. – In the ensemble, she leads the Schola Uncinus (male and female) and the vocal quartet Oriscus.
